Early Life and Gymnastics Career

Gabby Logan was born in Leeds, England, to a Welsh soccer player and manager, Terry Yorath, and his wife, Christine. Due to her father's career, she moved frequently as a child. In school, she excelled in netball, and later transitioned to high jump in university. Logan's most notable athletic achievement came in rhythmic gymnastics, where she placed 8th at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. However, her career was cut short at age 17 due to sciatica.

Transition to Broadcasting

Despite her athletic setback, Logan's interest in soccer grew, partially due to attending matches with her mother. She witnessed the Bradford City stadium fire in 1985, narrowly escaping just minutes before the blaze. After graduating, Logan worked at Metro Radio in Newcastle before joining Sky Sports in 1996. Two years later, she moved to ITV, where she made a name for herself hosting the show "On the Ball."

ITV and BBC Success

Logan became one of the few female sports presenters to transition to network television. Despite ITV losing their broadcast rights, she had established her reputation. In 2001, she married former Scottish rugby player Kenny Logan, and in 2005, they welcomed twins through IVF. BBC approached Logan in 2006, and in December of that year, she announced her departure from ITV and signed a three-year contract with the network.

Olympic Coverage and BBC Wales

In 2008, Logan covered the Beijing Olympics for the BBC, hosting prime-time coverage. She also participated in BBC Wales' "Coming Home" program, exploring her Welsh roots. Both Gabby and Kenny Logan currently serve as presidents of the children's charity Sparks.

Presenterships and Channel 5

In July 2009, Logan became the new host of BBC's "Score" series, covering the start of the 2009-10 football season. She left her weekday show in April 2011 to focus on other commitments. Logan joined Channel 5 in June 2011 to host a new talk show, which she left in April 2012. In December 2011, it was announced that she would be a lead presenter for the 2012 Summer Olympics, hosting daily news coverage from Stratford Stadium.
