Early Career and Ensemble Leadership
Boris Aleksandrovich Dzanaev began his career as a ballet dancer in the "Elbrus" vocal and choreographic ensemble in 1961. From 1965 to 1981, he led the ensemble's dance group as a ballet dancer.
Artistic Director and Choreographer
In 1981, Dzanaev took over as artistic director and ballet master of the State Ensemble "Elbrus." Under his leadership, the ensemble achieved numerous accolades, including Honorable Certificates from the Ministry of Culture of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KCHR).
National and International Recognition
In 1972, Dzanaev was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of the RSFSR" for his contributions to the development and promotion of national choreography in the KCHR. He subsequently prepared the "Adiyukh" song and dance ensemble for a dance competition in Poland, where they won first place alongside a Bulgarian dance troupe.
Guest Choreographer and Award-Winning Performances
In 1977, Dzanaev was invited to train the "Mingi-Tau" dance collective of the Malokarachaevsky District for a trip to Czechoslovakia. From 1981 to 1993, he led the "Islamey" ensemble as artistic director and chief choreographer, garnering numerous awards and performing on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace.
State Ensemble and Order of Friendship
In 1984, the "Islamey" dance collective was designated as a People's Dance Collective, forming the foundation for the establishment of the State Ensemble "Elbrus." In 1986, Dzanaev was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples for his exceptional contributions to the dance arts of the Caucasus.
Later Career and Legacy
In 1998, Dzanaev founded the "Art" vocal and choreographic ensemble in the village of Kosta-Khetagurovo. The ensemble was recognized as a People's Collective in 2002. In 2008, Dzanaev received the title of People's Artist of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic. He passed away on April 12, 2021, and was laid to rest in the city of Cherkessk, KCHR.
