Early Life and EducationMykhailo Kalyuzhnyi, a prominent Ukrainian statesman and scientist, was born on 25 September 1932. He graduated from the Donetsk Industrial Institute and began his distinguished career in the coal industry of Donbas.

Kalyuzhnyi's contributions to the field of mining engineering span nearly 50 years. Since April 2002, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Research Institute of Mining Mechanics named after M. M. Fedorov, and as the Director of the Donetsk Research and Development Coal Institute (DonUGI).
