Boris Alexandrovich Kolchin
Early Life and Education- Born on March 25, 1914, in Moscow, Russia
- Graduated from Moscow State University in 1941 with a degree in archaeology
Military Service
- Served in the Red Army during World War II from 1941 to 1942Academic Career
- Entered the Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1946
- Earned his Candidate's Degree in 1950 with a dissertation on "Iron Metallurgy and Metalworking in Ancient Rus"

Novgorod Archaeological Expedition
