Education and Early Career

Colonel Boris Steifon graduated from the Chuguyev Military School in 1902 and the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff in 1911.

World War I and Revolution

During the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), Steifon served as a lieutenant in the Voronezh Infantry Regiment. In World War I, he participated in the Caucasian Army and received the Cross of St. George for reconnaissance operations near Erzurum.

Dobrovol'cheskaya Army

After the October Revolution, Steifon returned to Kharkiv and led an underground group of General Staff officers who supported the Dobrovol'cheskaya Army. In September 1918, he joined the army and commanded the Belozersky Infantry Regiment.

Civil War and Exile

In July 1919, Steifon became chief of staff of the Poltava Detachment and later assisted General Bredov in coordinating with the Polish Army. He helped arrange the transfer of Bredov's troops from Poland to Crimea in 1920.

After the evacuation from Crimea, Steifon joined the Russian Army in exile in Gallipoli, where he served as camp commandant. He later moved to Bulgaria and Serbia, where he was promoted to lieutenant general.

Russian Protective Corps

In 1941, Steifon became chief of staff of the Russian Protective Corps in Serbia. After the arrest of General Skorodumov, Steifon took command of the corps.

Conflict and Death

Despite ongoing conflicts with the German command, Steifon faced increasing losses in Yugoslavia. The strain took its toll on his health, and he died suddenly on April 30, 1945.
