Biography of a Ukrainian Football Administrator
Early Life and EducationBorn in Ukraine, the future football administrator showed early promise in athletics, becoming a Master of Sports in light athletics and securing numerous championships in Kiev, Ukraine, and the Soviet Armed Forces. He graduated from the Kiev Institute of National Economy in 1969 and later obtained a diploma from the Kiev Institute of Physical Culture in 1983.
Career in Sports Administration
In 1973, he began his career as Deputy Director of Experimental Plant No. 20 of Civil Aviation. In 1975, he became Deputy Director of the Institute of Cybernetics at the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. In 1980, he was appointed Head of Sports Facilities Management at the Ukrainian State Committee for Sports.
Football Administration
He played a significant role in Ukrainian football as a Vice-President of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) and Chairman of the Committee for Stadiums and Safety of Competitions. He also served as an expert for UEFA in stadium construction and management and as a member of the Committee for the Certification of Football Clubs, the Executive Committee, and the Presidium of the FFU.
Honors and Recognition
His contributions to football and sports administration earned him numerous awards, including the Order of Merit of the 1st degree, the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Medal for Valiant Labor, and the Medal for Veteran of Labor. He also received the Sign of the Order of Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki of the 4th degree and the Order for Labor Achievements of the 4th degree.
Literary Works
In addition to his administrative duties, he authored three books: "Dynamo" Kiev, "Football in Philately, Dates, and Events," and "Football Field," a textbook.
