Biography of Branimir Subasic
Early Life and CareerBranimir Subasic, also known as Branimir Subašić, was born on April 7, 1982, in Belgrade. He started his football career in 1997 with the club "Železnik" in Belgrade. Over the years, he played for various clubs including "Oostende" in Belgium, "Boulogne" in France, "Chernomorets" in Odessa, Ukraine, and "Amkar" in Perm, Russia. In 2005, he joined "Neftchi" in Baku, Azerbaijan.
International Career
In 2007, Branimir Subasic acquired Azerbaijani citizenship and became eligible to represent their national team. He made his debut for Azerbaijan on March 7, 2007, during the International Football Tournament "Alma-TV Cup - 2007" in Chimkent, Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan won the match against Uzbekistan with a score of 1-0, thanks to Subasic's goal in the 55th minute. He went on to play a total of 7 games for the Azerbaijani national team, with three of them resulting in victories for the team.
Achievements
Subasic was included in the squad of Azerbaijan for the matches against Poland and Kazakhstan in May 2007. He was one of the naturalized foreign players selected by the head coach Shahin Diniyev. Subasic was a part of the "Neftchi" team that won the Commonwealth Cup in 2006 and reached the final in 2005.
Future Aspirations
In an exclusive interview, Branimir Subasic expressed his dream of scoring a goal and defeating the Serbian national team in the European Championship qualifying match that was scheduled to take place in Baku on October 17, 2007. He hoped that this victory would lead to the resignation of the Serbian national team's head coach, Javier Clemente.
