Biography of Brenda Joyce

Brenda Joyce, an American writer, burst onto the romantic literature scene immediately after her literary debut in 1988, winning the 'Best Western' award. Since then, she has published more than 50 novels, which are sold in 12 countries with a total circulation of over 14 million copies. Brenda Joyce has also been awarded the 'Best Historical Novel' and 'Literary Achievement' awards (twice) by Romantic Times magazine. Some of her works were published under the name B.D. Joyce. Brenda's maiden name is Dvorman, and her grandparents were immigrants from Russia. Brenda was born in the heart of New York - Brooklyn, and spent her childhood in Manhattan. Due to her parents' business, they had to entrust the care of their daughter to others, and Brenda entertained herself by creating fantastic stories. Then the girl attended a private school, where she was among the top students, and began to put her stories down on paper. At the age of twelve, she wrote her first story about the tragic love of a girl who could not choose between twin brothers, and at sixteen, she wrote her first novel. However, Brenda's literary career was interrupted by a real romantic story - at the age of eighteen, instead of going to college, she fell in love with a biker and went on a road trip with him. However, real life turned out to be not as rosy as in the novels, and Brenda broke up with her lover but maintained her love for motorcycles and travel. She lived in different states of her native country, spent a long time in Paris, and during her stay in Israel, she married the commander of an anti-terrorism unit. With him, she finally moved to her permanent place of residence in Arizona and gave birth to a son, but this marriage also did not stand the test of time. Brenda Joyce's first novel, 'Innocent Fire,' was published when she was twenty-five. The story of a fragile innocent girl who, after being raised in a monastery, travels to distant Texas to meet her future husband accompanied by a ranger, his best friend, and the feelings that develop between them, generously seasoned with Indian attacks, robberies, and other adventures, attracted great interest from readers. This novel was awarded the prestigious 'Best Western' award by Romantic Times magazine. 'Innocent Fire' marked the beginning of the 'Bragg Saga' series, the second book of which, 'Firestorm,' was released in the same year, 1988, and the last, the sixth, titled 'Secrets,' in 1993. The acknowledged hit in Brenda Joyce's bibliography is the 'de Warenne Dynasty' series, consisting of twelve books set in England and Ireland from the time of William the Conqueror to the present day. The historical detective stories from the 'Deadly' series (translated as 'Francesca Cahill' in Russian) are also bestsellers, initially published under the pseudonym B.D. Joyce. The two latest novels by the writer, 'A Rose in a Storm' and 'Highlanders,' which are continuations of her Scottish series, were released in 2013. Brenda Joyce's books in Russian were published by various publishers, primarily 'AST' and 'OLMA-Press.' Currently, about forty works by this writer have been published, including all the novels of the 'de Warenne Dynasty,' four books of the 'Bragg Family,' and as many historical detective novels from the 'Francesca Cahill' series. Among the most highly rated works by Brenda Joyce are 'Firestorm' and 'Violet Flame' (the second and third books of the 'Bragg Family' series), 'Deadly Illusions of Evil' and 'Deadly Kisses' (both from the historical detective series). The 'de Warenne Dynasty' series is also highly praised. The highest rating goes to the first book, 'The Conqueror,' which tells the story of the founder of the family - a Norman knight de Warenne, who married the heiress of a Saxon estate, and the story of the privateer Cliffe de Warenne and his love for the daughter of an executed pirate called 'The Perfect Lady.' The story of not accepting the prohibitions of passion against the backdrop of Victorian morals, 'Scandalous Love,' also generates a lot of interest, although with contradictory reviews. Brenda Joyce currently resides in Southern Arizona. She still pursues her youthful 'speed' hobbies - running and motorcycle riding. In addition, the writer is engaged in breeding Arabian racehorses, which she considers her second passion after literature.
