Early Life and Family

Briana Evigan was born on October 23, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. She is the third child of Pamela and Greg Evigan. Her brother, Jason, is a singer in the band 'After Midnight Project,' and her sister, Vanessa Lee, is an actress. Both of her parents work in the entertainment industry, with her father being a singer, composer, actor, and musician, and her mother being an actress. Briana's parents closely follow her career and support her every step of the way.

Dance and Music Career

Briana is a professional dancer and choreographer. Throughout her school years, she received dance training from the renowned choreographer and television personality, Shane Sparks. She also performed as a backup dancer for various artists' concerts. After graduating from Campbell Hall High School in 2004, Briana decided to attend Valley College in Los Angeles. It was there that she became one of the founders of the alternative pop-rock group 'Moorish Idol,' where she served as the vocalist and keyboardist.

Briana made her first appearance in a movie at the age of ten in 1996. She starred in director Scott P. Levy's horror film 'House of the Damned,' where her real-life father played her on-screen father. The film revolved around a magical house and a family that inherited the ability to perform magic. Briana gained recognition and appeared in the music video for the rock band 'Linkin Park's' song 'Numb,' which led to her being invited to participate in the MTV reality show 'Next.' Due to her striking looks, Briana Evigan became known for her roles in films such as 'Something Sweet' and 'Step Up 2: The Streets.' Her portrayal of the character Andie West in the popular dance musical sequel 'Step Up 2: The Streets' is considered her best role. She played the lead character, a street dancer with natural talent, who aspired to attend an elite performing arts school. Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman won the 'Best Kiss' award at the MTV Movie Awards for their performance in the film. They also appeared in Enrique Iglesias's music video for the song 'Push.'

Recent Projects

In 2009, Briana appeared in four films: the romantic drama 'I Love You,' the sci-fi thriller 'S. Darko,' the horror film 'Sorority Row,' and the thriller 'Burning Bright' about a girl who miraculously escapes a hurricane. She is currently working on another horror film, 'Mother's Day,' which is scheduled for release in 2010.
