Dr. Bryan Cheyette Klugh
Academic BackgroundDr. Bryan Klugh is currently an Emeritus Fellow in Social Philosophy at Campion Hall, Oxford, and an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford.
Research and Publications
Klugh has actively been involved in the study of Jewish-non-Jewish relations, serving as an Honorary Fellow at the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton. He is also a Research Fellow at the College of Saint Xavier, Chicago.
Klugh is renowned for his work as an Associate Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Patterns of Prejudice, which focuses on social alienation and stigmatization.
Activism
Klugh is a founding member of the Jewish Forum for Justice and Human Rights, a British group dedicated to combating racism and anti-Semitism in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, immigration, and the treatment of asylum seekers.
In 2006, Klugh contributed evidence to the British All-Party Parliamentary Inquiry into Antisemitism, which published its report in September of that year.
Critique of the Concept of "New Anti-Semitism"
Klugh has criticized the concept of "new anti-Semitism" as "confused." This viewpoint is outlined in his widely cited 2004 essay, "The Myth of New Anti-Semitism," published in The Nation magazine.
Independent Jewish Voices
In 2007, Klugh joined the Independent Jewish Voices (IJV), a British Jewish group critical of the Board of Deputies of British Jews' perceived uncritical support for Israel.

Klugh serves on the Advisory Board of the Yearbook of Islamophobia Studies.
