Early Life and EducationBorn in Hong Kong on August 13, 1967, Byron Mann is the son of a Chinese dentist and an American-Chinese homemaker. Raised in the Kowloon district, he attended Diocesan Boys' School, where he developed a passion for theater. After graduating, Mann studied at Christian College in Chicago and later transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), majoring in philosophy. Despite aspirations to pursue law at the University of Southern California, Mann took a break and returned to Hong Kong to rekindle his acting career, eventually passing the California bar exam.
Film Career
Byron Mann's acting career began with commercials and music videos, leading to his film debut in the 1990 TV movie "Last Flight Out." After a guest appearance on the sitcom "Murphy Brown," Mann realized his dislike for the format and focused on more substantial roles. His breakthrough came in 1994 with the action-adventure film "Street Fighter," portraying the martial arts expert Ryu Hoshi.
Mann's filmography includes the superhero film "Catwoman," where he played the supporting role of Wesley. In the 2015 thriller "Jasmine," he portrayed a suspect, earning awards at several international film festivals. That same year, he starred in "Absolution" alongside Steven Seagal and Vinnie Jones.

In 2023, Byron Mann wrote and produced the romantic comedy "Love on the Run," also starring as Sean Ku, a wealthy Hong Kong playboy whose life is turned upside down by a woman who defies societal norms.

Currently in production is the South Korean film "Moral Hazard," where Mann portrays a Chinese-American investment banker.
