Biography of Candy Spelling
Carole Gene 'Candy' Spelling was born on September 20, 1945. She is an American writer and the widow of Aaron Spelling. In 1968, Candy Spelling, then known as Carole Gene Marer, married producer and writer Aaron Spelling. The couple had two children together, Victoria Davey Spelling and Randall Gene Spelling. Both of their children pursued acting careers, with Tori Spelling and Randy Spelling appearing in several of their father's productions, most notably the TV series 'Beverly Hills 90210'.

Philanthropy and Public Activities
Aside from her writing career, Candy Spelling is actively involved in philanthropy and public activities. She is a member of the Los Angeles Park Council, a member of the City's Recreation and Parks Committee, and a participant in the 'Best of Los Angeles' team. In particular, she is part of the group led by the mayor that focuses on improving reading programs in local schools.

Real Estate
Candy Spelling is the owner of the Spelling estate, a two-story condominium located in Century City, Los Angeles. According to her lawyer, she paid around forty-seven million dollars for the property after her husband's death in 2006. In March 2009, Candy put her Holmby Hills estate up for sale. The estate occupies 4.7 acres or fifty-six thousand and a half square feet, making it the largest residential home in the Los Angeles area. The initial asking price was one hundred and fifty million dollars, making it the most expensive property in the country.
Writing and Family Relations
Candy Spelling is a columnist for 'The Huffington Post', 'Los Angeles Confidential' magazine, and the website TMZ.com. In March 2009, she published her autobiography titled 'Stories from Candyland', which became a national bestseller and was named the best book by the major bookstore 'Book Soup'. Candy Spelling also has two grandchildren, Liam Aaron McDermott and Stella Doreen McDermott, both of whom are the children of Victoria. Her relationship with Tori, her daughter, is strained, as Candy has not yet met her granddaughter Stella. On April 13, 2009, Spelling posted an open letter on her website to her daughter, offering to reconcile and promising to spend more time with her grandchildren. The main reason for writing the letter was Victoria's limited communication, as she only occasionally visits Candy's website and is otherwise unreachable through phone calls, emails, or text messages.
