Early Life

Carl H. Lindner Jr. was born in Ohio in 1919 into a family that owned United Dairy Farmers, an ice cream business, and a chain of grocery stores in Cincinnati. Guided by a keen business acumen, Lindner played a pivotal role in expanding the family enterprises.

Business Ventures

Lindner currently manages about half of the shares in the American Financial Group insurance company alongside his three sons. He holds the distinction of having chaired the Board of Directors of Chiquita Brands International. Moreover, Lindner served as a co-owner and CEO of the Cincinnati Reds until 2005, remaining as an active shareholder after stepping down as chairman.

Philanthropy

Beyond his business endeavors, Lindner's generosity has left an indelible mark. He and his family have provided significant financial support to organizations, institutions, and political parties.
