Early Life and Club CareerNéstor "Pipo" Babington was born on September 20, 1949, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to ethnic English parents. His football career began with Club Atlético Huracán, where he helped them win the Metropolitano championship in 1973.
In 1974, Babington transferred to German club Wattenscheid 09, despite hoping to join Stoke City due to his family's roots in Stoke-on-Trent, England. He returned to Huracán in 1979, playing until 1982.
International Career
Babington also represented Argentina as a striker. He played for the national team in several international matches.
Post-Retirement and Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Babington returned to his beloved Huracán as a coach. He later became the club's president in 2005. Babington also coached Racing Club de Avellaneda during his coaching career.
