EARLY LIFE AND CAREER
Enrique is a Brazilian football defender who began his career at the prestigious Flamengo football club. He made his debut for the team on July 9th, 2003, in a match against Juventude. Throughout his time at Flamengo, he played a total of 35 matches and scored one goal against Fluminense on September 12th, 2004.
MOVE TO BORDEAUX
In August 2005, Enrique embarked on a new chapter in his career, signing with French club Bordeaux. He made his debut on October 15th, 2005, in a Ligue 1 match against Sochaux. Enrique played the full ninety minutes as a starter but received a yellow card during the match. His first goal for Bordeaux came on March 11th, 2006, against Toulouse.
SUCCESS WITH BORDEAUX
Enrique's time at Bordeaux was marked by a string of accomplishments. In the 2005/06 and 2007/08 seasons, the team finished as Ligue 1 runners-up. In 2009, they were crowned champions of France. Enrique also won two Coupe de la Ligue titles and two Super Coupe de France titles with the club.
RETURN TO BRAZIL
From 2014 to 2015, Enrique returned to Brazil to play for Fluminense. While with Fluminense, he helped the team win the Campeonato Carioca in 2014 and the Taça Guanabara in the same year.
