Early Life and Football Debut
French footballer of Polish descent, Timothée Kolodziejczak, was born into a family with a rich heritage. His Polish father and Martinican mother instilled in him a diverse upbringing.
At the tender age of seven, Kolodziejczak's football journey began at US Saint-Maurice Loos-en-Gohelle. After a brief stint there and a year at Avion, he joined the prestigious academy of RC Lens, where he honed his skills for eight years.
Rise Through the Ranks: From Lens to Lyon
Upon completing his academy studies, Lens offered Kolodziejczak a five-year contract. However, he declined and was subsequently loaned to Olympique Lyonnais with an option to buy.
At Lyon, Kolodziejczak played primarily for the reserve team, making his debut in September 2008 against Saint-Étienne. He earned a single appearance for the first team that season, coming on as a substitute against Paris Saint-Germain.
Lyon Tenacity and Limited Opportunities
Lyon eventually acquired Kolodziejczak's transfer from Lens for €2.5 million, signing him to a four-year contract. Despite his promise, he struggled to break into the starting lineup, making only sporadic appearances in the league and European competitions.
Transfer to Nice and Emergence as a Regular
In 2012, Kolodziejczak joined OGC Nice, solidifying his place as a starting member. Over two seasons, he amassed over 70 league appearances, showcasing his defensive prowess.
Sevilla Arrival and European Triumph
In August 2014, Kolodziejczak signed a four-year deal with Sevilla FC. While in Spain, he achieved his greatest success: winning the UEFA Europa League in 2016.
International Career: From Youth to Polish Eligibility
Kolodziejczak represented France at various youth levels, including the Under-16s and Under-20s. He helped his country reach the final of the Under-17 European Championship in 2008 and lifted the Under-19 European Championship in 2010.
