Biography of Carlyle Glean

Carlyle Glean is a prominent politician and currently serves as the Governor-General of Grenada. He was born in Grenada, an island nation located in the Caribbean Sea. Glean began his professional career in 1950 as a teacher at St. John's Roman Catholic School.

Later, Glean went to Canada where he enrolled at the University of Calgary. In 1970, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. He returned to Grenada and began teaching at Grenada Teachers College. After a few years, Glean went back to Canada to further his studies. He obtained a master's degree in education and worked in various educational institutions, including Teachers College, University of the West Indies in Barbados, and the Caribbean Examinations Council, where he served as an assistant chief examiner.

In later years, Carlyle Glean was elected as a member of the Senate and served as the Minister of Education from 1990 to 1995. He was also actively involved in the New Life Organization as a volunteer guardian for eight years. Additionally, he served on the Hills View Management Committee for almost a decade.

Currently, His Excellency Carlyle Arnold Glean is the fifth Governor-General of Grenada. He was sworn in at a ceremony held at the Grenada Trade Center. Glean is highly respected and considered one of the most educated and capable politicians. Despite being distant from politics for many years, he excels in fulfilling his responsibilities.
