Kara Glick: American-Israeli Journalist and Middle East Expert
Early Life and EducationBorn in Chicago, Kara Glick earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Columbia University in 1991. She subsequently immigrated to Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). As an IDF officer during the First Intifada, she played a pivotal role in authoring and editing the book "Israel, the Intifada and the Rule of Law."
Government and Diplomacy
After completing her military service, Glick worked as an advisor on international affairs in Prime Minister Netanyahu's office from 1997 to 1998. She returned to the United States to pursue a master's degree in public policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, graduating in 2000.
Journalism Career
Glick began her journalism career as the chief international correspondent for the Israeli newspaper Makor Rishon. She currently serves as deputy editor of The Jerusalem Post and writes a biweekly column for both publications. Her articles have appeared in numerous outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, National Review, The Boston Globe, and The Washington Times.
Intelligence and Defense
Glick is a member of the Middle East Advisory Board at the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C., and has co-authored several books with the center. She has also held positions at the Israeli Defense Forces' Operational Theory Research Institute and the IDF's Command and Staff College.
Media Appearances
Glick is a frequent guest on television and radio programs worldwide, including MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and Sky News. During the Iraq War, she reported from the front lines as a field correspondent for Israel's Channel 1 TV.
