At the tender age of 10, Foster shattered the national age-group record in the 50-meter butterfly for the 10-under age group. His remarkable time of 29.91 seconds made him the youngest American ever to swim the distance in under 30 seconds.
International Success
Foster's international swimming career began in 2017, where he earned two silver medals at the FINA World Junior Championships. Two years later, at the 2019 edition, he ascended to the top of the podium, capturing three gold medals. He also represented the United States at the 2018 Pan Pacific Junior Championships.
Olympic Trials Journey
In 2016, Foster participated in the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, competing in the 400-meter individual medley. Despite finishing 43rd overall in the prelims, his determination remained unwavering.
Four years later, at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Foster showcased his growth. He secured an impressive eighth-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:46.67. Additionally, he claimed a third-place finish in the 400-meter individual medley.
Collegiate Career
Currently, Foster swims for the Texas Longhorns, representing the University of Texas at Austin. His collegiate swimming journey is marked by dedication and a drive for excellence.
