Early Life and Education

Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray was born on January 6, 1994, in Cairns, Queensland, Australia to Ian Gray, an Australian of Scottish descent, and Normita Ragas Magnayón, a Filipina. Raised in Australia, she earned her bachelor's degree in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Modeling and Pageantry Career

Gray began her modeling career in the Philippines, where she won the Miss World Philippines 2016 pageant. She represented the country at Miss World 2016, placing in the Top 5 and receiving the title of 3rd Runner-up. In 2018, she won the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, earning the right to represent the Philippines at Miss Universe.

At the 67th Miss Universe pageant, held on December 17, 2018, in Thailand, Gray answered the question about marijuana legalization with a nuanced response, advocating for its medical use but expressing moderation in its recreational applications.
