Early Life and EducationKazimierz Liske, born in Denver, Colorado in 1982, was an American actor, director, and musician whose life was cut tragically short. Despite his parents' architectural background, Liske pursued his passion for theater from a young age. After graduating, Liske journeyed to Russia for an internship at the Moscow Art Theater (MKhAT). Originally intending to stay for only three months, he fell deeply in love with the country and its theater scene. Under the guidance of Konstantin Raikin, he honed his craft alongside fellow American actor Один Байрон.
Film Career
Liske's film roles in Russia were primarily minor or supporting characters. Notable among them was the English patient Edward in the popular series "Interns" (2010). He also appeared in "The Diary of Dr. Zaitseva" (2011) and played an assistant to the American team's coach in "Going Vertical" (2017). His most significant film credit was his leading role in Ivan Vyrypaev's "Salvation" (2015), a cerebral drama exploring the intersection of religion and spirituality.
Theatrical Legacy
Liske's true passion lay in theater. He became a legendary figure at the Ekperimentalnyi Teatralny Tsentr "Praktika" (Practice Theatre) in Moscow. As an actor, he captivatingly portrayed complex characters. Beyond acting, he directed two plays: "Black & Simpson" and "Sugar," both in collaboration with Vyrypaev. He also showcased his musical talent by composing the scores for "Sugar" and "Unbearably Long Embraces."

On the set of "Salvation," Liske met and married Polina Grishina, the film's leading actress. They welcomed a son, Oliver, in 2015. The couple shared a quiet and dedicated life in Moscow, focusing on their theater work.
Tragic Death
In a shocking and unexpected tragedy, Liske fell from the fifth-floor window of his Moscow apartment on April 24, 2017. Despite emergency surgery, he succumbed to severe injuries, including multiple spinal and limb fractures, and a traumatic brain injury.
