Early LifeBorn in Croft, Leicestershire, England, Charles Avery Dunning, known throughout his life as "Charlie," immigrated to Canada at the tender age of 17. Following the advice of a friend, he left his occupation as an ironworker behind and became a farmhand in the bustling country.
Family and Homestead
Dunning quickly realized the potential Canada held and urged his family to join him in Eastern Central Saskatchewan. After securing a homestead in the Beaverdale district, west of Yorkton, Dunning had successfully uprooted his entire family from their homeland.
