Charles Bronfman, a Canadian businessman, philanthropist, and one of the most affluent and influential individuals in the world, was born on June 27, 1931, in Montreal, Canada. He was born to Samuel and Saidye Bronfman and grew up in Montreal, where he attended Selwyn House School. Later, he studied at Trinity College School and McGill University.

From November 1997 to July 2002, Charles served as the Chairman of the Board of Koor Industries Ltd, one of Israel's largest investment holding companies. Additionally, he was the co-chairman of the Canadian Research Institute McGill. From 1999 to 2001, Bronfman was the first Chairman of the United Jewish Communities, a unified North American organization that includes the United Jewish Appeal, the Council of Jewish Federations, and the United Israel Appeal. Previously, he also held the position of co-chairman of the Seagram Company Ltd.

Aside from his prominent business career, Charles Bronfman is also a remarkable philanthropist. He founded the Zionist organization Birthright Israel, which provides young Israelis with the opportunity to travel and explore their country. Furthermore, Bronfman is the chairman of his own philanthropic association, Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies Inc, which operates not only in Israel but also in the United States and Canada. In 2002, Charles and his wife were awarded the prestigious Honorary Citizenship of Jerusalem, among many other accolades, for their charitable work.

Currently, Charles Bronfman is a widower and resides and works surrounded by his five children and four grandchildren.
