Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré (1789-1854) was a renowned French botanist and plant systematist. Born in Angoulême, France, to J-J. Gaudichaud and Rose (Mallat) Gaudichaud, he initially studied pharmacology in his hometown and Cognac.

Before relocating to Paris, Gaudichaud worked in a chemical laboratory in Cognac. He subsequently pursued medical studies in Antwerp from 1811 to 1814. Upon his return to France, he dedicated himself to botanical research.
