Christelle Morançais, a prominent French politician, currently serves as the President of the Pays de la Loire Regional Council, a position she has held since 2017. Born on January 28, 1975, Morançais holds a degree in business and spent 20 years working in real estate.
Entrepreneurial Beginnings
Along with her husband, Morançais established MegAgence, a real estate agency, where she assumed the role of General Manager. This entrepreneurial venture laid the foundation for her future political career.
Entry into Politics
Morançais's political journey began in 2014 when she was elected to the municipal councils of Le Mans and Le Mans Métropole. In 2015, she joined the Pays de la Loire Regional Council as a member of the Union of the Right and the Centre, led by Bruno Retailleau.
Rise to Regional Leadership
In 2017, Morançais was elected President of the Regional Council. She successfully led the centre-right bloc to victory in the regional elections of June 27, 2021, with 46.45% of the votes, defeating both the left-wing and green coalition and the National Rally.
