Early Life and CareerGerman professional tennis star, standing at 6 ft 2 in (188 cm) and weighing 187 lbs (85 kg), began his professional career in 2001. Specializing in doubles play, he made his mark on the ATP Tour in 2006 by reaching the finals in Båstad with Oliver Marach and in Amersfoort with Lucas Arnold Ker.
Continued Success
In 2007, Neumann partnered with compatriot Thomas Berend and advanced to the finals in Kitzbühel and Vienna. March 2008 marked his fifth ATP final, this time in Zagreb with Rogier Wassen. His first tournament victory came in July 2008 in Stuttgart, partnering with Philipp Kohlschreiber. The duo also reached the finals in Basel in October. At the 2008 US Open, Neumann and Philipp Petzschner made it to the quarterfinals.
Consistent Performance
Neumann's partnership with Wassen continued in 2009, resulting in another finals appearance in Zagreb. In July, he teamed up with Kohlschreiber to triumph on the grass courts of Halle. In July 2010, he reached the finals in Stuttgart with Petzschner. October brought his third ATP title in Bangkok with Viktor Troicki of Serbia. In February 2011, Neumann and Alexander Peya of Austria advanced to the finals in Delray Beach.
