Education and Career

Lawford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School, and a Master's Certificate in Clinical Psychology from Harvard Medical School, where he also became a lecturer in psychiatry.

In September 2005, Lawford's work "Symptoms of Withdrawal: A Memoir of Snapshots and Redemption" was released by Harper Collins Publishers and instantly became a bestseller. The book is a memoir that explores interesting events in his life and promotes the idea of unity as a means of survival and finding integrity in a world of selfishness and debauchery.

Lawford's next book, "Moments of Clarity: Voices from the Front Lines of Addiction and Recovery," published in 2009, is a collection of essays about famous personalities, including athletes and artists, who became addicted to drugs or alcohol but then realized the harmfulness of their lifestyle and decided to turn their lives around.

Lawford has spent over fifteen years in the film and television industry, working as an actor, lawyer, production executive, and producer. He began his career at Independent Film Acquisitions, where he was responsible for the production of the film "American Graffiti", one of the most successful films of the early 70s. As an independent producer, Lawford secured funding for the films "Kiss Me Guido" and "Drunks," both of which received recognition at the Sundance Film Festival.

Some of Lawford's notable acting works include "Eavesdrop" (2008), "Slipstream" (2007), "The World's Fastest Indian" (2005), "Terminator 3" (2003), "Blankman" (1994), "The Doors" (1991), "The Russia House" (1990), "Thirteen Days" (2000), and many others.

Political and Public Activism

Lawford is also actively involved in politics, government, and the non-profit sector. He has served in executive roles in the National Democratic Committee and the Washington office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Recently, he was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to a position in the California Department of Health Services.
