Early Life and EducationClaudia Kim, born Kim Soo-hyun on January 25, 1985, in Seoul, South Korea, has a somewhat enigmatic early life. Her family relocated to New Jersey when she was five years old due to her father's job with a Korean company. Kim immersed herself in the English language, which she later credited for her quick adaptation to Hollywood. Despite her interest in the arts, fostered by her father's passion for painting, Kim's parents initially discouraged her from pursuing an artistic career. However, after graduating from Ewha Womans University with a degree in International Studies, Kim entered the modeling world.
Modeling Success and Acting Debut
Kim's modeling career began in 2003 with a casting for Guess in Korea. Though she participated for fun, her talent was recognized, and she was offered a permanent position. However, she declined, prioritizing her university studies. In 2005, she triumphed at the first Korea-China Supermodel contest.
Kim's acting debut came in 2006 with a role in the Korean drama "Queen of the Game." Despite lacking formal acting training, she impressed audiences. After completing her university studies in 2009, Kim decided to fully pursue acting and adopted the stage name Claudia Kim to avoid confusion with actor Kim Soo-hyun.
