Colby Donaldson was born on April 1, 1974, in the small Texan town of Christoval. The son of a teacher and a rancher, Donaldson grew up with his older brother, Reid. He attended Christoval High School and later studied marketing and business at Texas Tech University, where he became a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, Donaldson moved to Austin, Texas.
'Survivor' and Fame
In 2001, Donaldson became a household name when he competed in the second season of the reality show 'Survivor: The Australian Outback.' Known for his athleticism, charisma, and signature Texas flag, Donaldson formed an alliance with Tina Wesson, a nurse from Tennessee. In a controversial move, he chose to bring Wesson to the final two over Keith Famie. However, Wesson ultimately won the season, leaving Donaldson as the runner-up.
