Early Life and Education
Colm Feore (born August 22, 1958) is a Canadian actor known for his work in film, theater, and television. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Irish parents, Feore spent his early years living in Ireland before his family moved to Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
After graduating from Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario, Feore attended the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal and subsequently attended the University of Windsor. He is fluent in French. He currently resides in Stratford, Ontario, with his wife, choreographer Donna Feore, and their three children, Jack, Tom, and Anna.
Stratford Festival
Feore honed his acting skills as a member of the Acting Company at the Stratford Festival of Canada, the largest classical theater company in North America. He spent sixteen seasons in Stratford, rising from playing "spear-carrier" roles to leading roles such as Romeo, Hamlet, Richard III, and Cyrano de Bergerac. In 2006, he returned to Stratford and performed four leading roles, including Don Juan in both English and French, and Fagin in the musical "Oliver!"
Canadian Television and Film
In Canada, Feore has had a number of notable television roles. He portrayed Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau in the acclaimed miniseries "Trudeau," for which he won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries. He also played the fastidious and language-obsessed Anglophone detective Martin Ward in the popular series "Bon Cop, Bad Cop." Additionally, Feore had a recurring role as the delusional traveling salesman in the second season of the acclaimed Canadian series "Slings and Arrows," which later aired in the United States to critical acclaim.
International Roles
Outside Canada, Feore is best known for his supporting roles in Hollywood films such as "Paycheck," "National Security," and "The Chronicles of Riddick." He has also appeared on Broadway, playing Cassius in "Julius Caesar" opposite Denzel Washington as Brutus. His off-Broadway theater credits include Claudius in "Hamlet" with Liev Schreiber.
Feore also had a recurring role as the First Gentleman, Henry Taylor, in the seventh season of the popular television series "24."
