Early Life and Education
Cory Michael Smith was born in London, England in May 1998. From a young age, he aspired to pursue a career in cinematography. After completing secondary school, he successfully auditioned for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he studied acting.
Theatre Career
During his time at RADA, Smith honed his skills through performances in various stage productions. These included "Macbeth," "The Unravelling," "Julius Caesar," and "Hamlet." He also participated in the youth sections of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the National Youth Theatre.
Film and Television Debut
Prior to landing his breakthrough role in "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," Smith appeared in short films such as "The Unravelling" and "Mars." He also had a small role in the Netflix series "The Sandman."

Cory Smith portrayed King George III in the prequel series to "Bridgerton," which explores the life of the young queen and her husband in an alternate 18th-century England where racial equality reigns. He also developed a playlist and used a ring with King George's initials as props to enhance his performance.
