Craig Finn: A Literary Rockstar
Early Life and InfluencesCraig Finn, born on August 22, 1971, in Boston, Massachusetts, spent his childhood in Edina, Minnesota, where he was raised in the Catholic faith. His musical journey began at Valley View Middle School and continued through Breck School, graduating from Boston College in 1993.
Lifter Puller and The Hold Steady
Finn relocated to New York City in 2000, becoming a prominent figure in the indie rock scene. As the frontman of Lifter Puller and later The Hold Steady, he gained recognition for his complex and literary-inspired lyrics.
Collaborative Projects
Between Lifter Puller and The Hold Steady, Finn collaborated with Mr. Projectile on the techno project The Brokerdealer, releasing two untitled EPs. He also lent his vocals to Titus Andronicus' album "The Monitor" and imitated Walt Whitman in his song "A Pot in Which to Piss."
