Biography of Christian Cage

Christian Cage, whose real name is William Jason Reso, was born on November 30, 1973, in Orangville, Canada. From a young age, he was involved in amateur wrestling.

Early Career

In June 1993, Reso made his professional wrestling debut under the name Christian Cage. He was trained by the famous Ron Atkinson. His first match took place in Toronto against Zakka Wilda, which he won convincingly.

ICW and PCW

After his debut, Christian was invited to join the Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), where he met Adam Copeland (Edge), who was then known as Sexton Hardcastle. Within six months, Reso and Copeland became the ICW Tag Team Champions. Christian also became the champion of the Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling (PCW) during this time.

ECWA and WWE

In 1997, Christian signed a contract with ECWA (East Coast Wrestling Association), where he met Joe Legend and Rhyno. Despite their efforts, none of them were able to defeat the reigning ECWA champion, Viper. However, on July 18, 1998, Christian managed to dethrone Viper and became the new ECWA Heavyweight Champion. After three months, he left ECWA and made his debut in WWE on September 27, 1998, during a match between Edge and Owen Hart.

The Brood and Championship Reigns

Following his debut in WWE, Christian joined forces with Edge and Gangrel to form the group The Brood. They quickly gained success and won their first match together on December 13, 1998. Christian went on to win the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship in his first match against Taka Michinoku. However, he lost the title on November 17, 1999, to Dwayne Gill (Gilberg).

Tag Team Success

Christian's career reached new heights in the tag team division. Teaming up with Edge, they became three-time WWE Tag Team Champions. They had memorable feuds and matches against teams like The Dudley Boyz, The Hardy Boyz, and The Acolytes. Their TLC matches, which involved ladders, chairs, and tables, are still considered some of the greatest tag team matches in WWE history.

Later Career

In 2005, Christian left WWE and joined Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, where he had a successful run and became a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He returned to WWE in 2009 and had another successful stint before retiring in 2014. Christian remains one of the most respected and accomplished wrestlers in the industry.
