In 1998, Cordeiro sought opportunities in Hong Kong, joining the South China club. However, six years later, he left due to the club's policy of limiting foreign player participation. Cordeiro found a new home at Hong Kong's Convoy Sun Hei.
International Recognition
Despite his Brazilian origins, Cordeiro's exceptional performances on the field earned him recognition in Hong Kong. He was twice named the Hong Kong Footballer of the Year (2000/01 and 2004/05). In 2006, he acquired Hong Kong citizenship, allowing him to represent the national football team.
