Biography of Dainius Kazlauskas

Dainius Kazlauskas, the Lithuanian actor, was born on July 14th in Vilnius. He completed his schooling and then went on to study at the Lithuanian Music Academy, graduating from the Acting and Directing Department in 1993. He further enhanced his skills by undertaking an intensive course and masterclass in Germany, and in 1996, he completed his master's degree in theater arts at the Lithuanian Conservatory.

Theater Career

After graduating from the Lithuanian Conservatory, Dainius Kazlauskas actively collaborated with various Lithuanian theaters. He has been performing on the stage of the Lithuanian State Youth Theatre for many years. Some of his notable roles include the Madman in "Notes of a Madman" by Gogol, Jacques in the play "Miss Julie," Don Quixote in "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes, Montfleury in "Cyrano de Bergerac," Celestine in "Be a Man, Celestine!", Doctor in the play "Father," Swineherd in the fairy tale "The Princess and the Swineherd," and more. He has also showcased his talent in the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, Vilnius City Theatre, Angelika Holinoy Theatre, Kaunas Drama Theatre, and the Mogul & Baltic Music Theatre.

For his performances in the plays "Merlin" and "The Caveman," Dainius Kazlauskas was named Actor of the Year in the Lithuanian Republic in 2005.

Film Career

Dainius Kazlauskas has been acting in films since the early 90s. His early works include roles in films by Baltic directors such as "Snake's Gaze" (1990), "Jazz" (1992), "Baltic Love" (1992), "The Wall" (1994), and "The Library" (1996). He has also appeared in films by Western European and American directors. In 1996, he portrayed Benjamin Fleishman in the French film-opera "The Rothschild Violin" directed by E. Kozarinsky. Some of his other notable film credits include "The Prosecutor" (1995, Germany), "Attila" (2001, USA), "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (2002, UK), "Matryoshka" (2005, Belgium), and more.

Dainius Kazlauskas gained popularity in Russia when he appeared on the screen for the first time in the series "Lithuanian Transit" in 2003. However, it was his role as the American millionaire John in the series "Heartbreakers" that made him widely recognized in the country. "Heartbreakers" is an adaptation of the well-known Chilean series "Socias." The main character, Sofia Pechorina, a cunning Russian swindler played by Elena Xenofontova, plans a brilliant adventure that is expected to bring her at least 100 million dollars in pure profit. Upon learning that an American millionaire named John, whom his adoptive parents took from Russia in his early childhood, is searching for his Russian family, Sofia decides to use this information for her own purposes. She hires people to play the roles of John's lost relatives, who were tragically separated from him during childhood. With the help of this complex theatrical performance, the swindler intends to extract as much money as possible from John's accounts. Sonia manages to establish contact with the millionaire and, posing as his long-lost sister, invites him to be a part of the "family"...
