Early Life and Education

Dan Soder was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He is of Irish descent. While attending high school, Soder experienced tragedy with the loss of his father to a prolonged illness and his sister in a car accident two years later.

Despite these challenges, Soder pursued his passion for comedy as a student at the University of Arizona, where he graduated with degrees in journalism and political science in 2005. Following graduation, he relocated to New York City to advance his comedy career.

Career Success

Stand-Up and Television Appearances

Soder has gained recognition for his stand-up performances on comedy shows including "Half Hour," "Conan," "Cum Town," "Opie and Anthony," and "Guy Code" on MTV2. He also appeared on "Garbage Time" with Katie Nolan and the podcast "You Know What Dude!" with Robert Kelly.

After Anthony Cumia's departure from "Opie and Anthony," Soder became a frequent guest and "third mic" on "Opie with Jim Norton" and previously on Faction Talk on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

In 2016, Soder released his one-hour comedy special, "Not Special," on Comedy Central. Since 2014, he has made several guest appearances on "Inside Amy Schumer" and appeared in Schumer's film "Trainwreck" (2015) in a cameo role.

Podcasts and Theatre

In 2015, Soder and fellow comedian Big Jay Oakerson debuted their two-hour talk radio show, "The Bonfire," on SiriusXM's Comedy Central Radio channel, which airs Monday through Thursday (previously Mondays and Wednesdays).

Soder also appeared as a special guest on the popular wrestling podcast, Wrestling Soup, in 2016. In the same year, he landed a recurring role in the Showtime drama series "Billions."

Film and More

In 2019, Soder starred in the comedy film "Drunk Parents" alongside Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek. Additionally, he had a 30-minute stand-up special featured in the Netflix original series "Stand Ups" in 2017.
