Biography of Zhang Dan
Zhang Dan is a Chinese figure skater who competes in pair skating with Zhang Hao. They won the silver medal at the 2006 Olympics in Turin.

Early Success
Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao became a pair in 1997. Despite not being related, their shared surname, "Zhang," is very common in China. They achieved immediate success, finishing first and second in junior Grand Prix events. They also placed fifth in the Junior Grand Prix Final. In addition, they won silver in 2000 and bronze in 2001 at the Chinese National Championships.

World Junior Championships
At the 2000 World Junior Championships, Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao became the first to successfully perform a quadruple twist in competition. This achievement marked a significant milestone in their career.
2006 Olympics
At the Turin Olympics, Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao attempted a quadruple throw Salchow, but Zhang Dan fell and suffered an injury. Despite this setback, they continued their performance, successfully completing the remaining elements and earning the silver medal.
Later Career
In the 2008-2009 season, Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao won both stages of the Grand Prix series in which they participated: the Cup of Russia and the Cup of China. However, they finished second in the final, losing to their compatriots Pang Qing and Tong Jian.
