Biography of Satoko Miyahara
Satoko Miyahara is a Japanese figure skater. She was born in Kyoto in 1998 and started figure skating at a young age. She showed great talent and achieved impressive results for her age.

Early Career
Miyahara competed three times in the Junior World Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2014. In 2013, she won a bronze medal in the national championship after a tough competition. In early 2014, she was sent to the Four Continents Championship in Taipei as the main Japanese team was in Sochi. There, Miyahara won a silver medal, repeating the same result the following year in Seoul, where she improved all her previous achievements.
Rise to Success
At the World Championship in Shanghai, Miyahara fought hard and after the short program, she was in third place, surpassing her previous accomplishments. In the free program, she pushed Russian skater Elena Radionova to third place and won a silver medal in her debut championship. In April, she performed well in both programs at the World Team Trophy, contributing to the Japanese team's bronze medal.
In September 2015, Miyahara started the new season in the United States, where she won the Salt Lake City tournament. A month later, she competed in Milwaukee at the Skate America Grand Prix series, where she placed third. She performed even better at the final stage in Nagano, surpassing all her previous achievements and claiming first place. As a result, Miyahara qualified for the Grand Prix Final in Barcelona. At the tournament in Spain, she was fourth after the short program but improved her previous achievements in the free program, finishing in second place.
In December, Miyahara became a two-time national champion. She then excelled at the Continental Championship in Taiwan, improving all her previous accomplishments and winning the gold medal. In early April, she qualified for the top five at the World Championship in Boston, becoming the best Asian skater at the championship. At the Asian Trophy in late April, representing Team Asia, she once again improved her achievements in both the short and free programs.
Recent Career and Injuries
In the new Olympic season, Miyahara began at the Grand Prix series in the United States, where she won a gold medal in Salt Lake City. In late October, she competed at the Cup of Canada in Mississauga, finishing in third place. In late November, she competed at the final home stage of the Grand Prix in Sapporo, where she finished second, securing her spot in the Grand Prix Final in Marseille. At the final in France, she performed well and surpassed her previous achievements in the short and free programs, finishing in second place.
In December, Miyahara won her third consecutive gold medal at the Japanese Championship in Osaka. In early February 2017, she announced that she had suffered an injury, forcing her to withdraw from the Continental Championship, Asian Games, and World Championship. She only returned to competition at the end of the year.
In the new Olympic season, Miyahara finished in the middle of the tournament table at the domestic stage of the Grand Prix. Although she did not qualify for the Grand Prix Final based on her performance, she was given the opportunity to compete at the home final due to the injury of Russian skater Alina Zagitova.
Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, Satoko Miyahara has established herself as a top figure skater with numerous achievements throughout her career.
