Early Life and Club Career
Da Motawas born in Portugal but became a naturalized Luxembourgian citizen in 2008. He began his professional football career in his home country, playing for clubs such as SC Espinho, FC Paços de Ferreira, and Vitória Setúbal.
Rise to Prominence in Luxembourg
In 2006, Da Mota moved to Luxembourg and joined F91 Dudelange. He quickly established himself as a prolific goalscorer, finishing as the top scorer in the 2007-08 Luxembourg National Division with 24 goals. His performances in the league earned him several individual awards, including the Player of the Year award in 2005-06.
International Debut
After receiving his Luxembourgian passport, Da Mota was called up to the Luxembourg national team in 2008. He made his debut in a qualifying match for the 2008 UEFA European Championship against Albania.
