Biography of Daniel Gomes
Daniel Miguel Alves Gomes, known as Danny, was born on August 7, 1983, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a midfielder for Moscow's "Dynamo" team.
Early Life and Career
Danny started playing football in Venezuela before moving to Portugal with his family at the age of 15. He began his career with the youth team of "Maritimo Funchal" and eventually joined the senior team in 2000. After a season, he was sold to "Sporting" Lisbon for 2.1 million euros but returned to "Maritimo" on loan the following season.
International Success
Danny represented the Portuguese national team at the youth and Olympic levels. He won a bronze medal at the 2004 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and also participated in the 2004 Olympic Games. Although he was invited to play for the Venezuelan national team, specifically in the 2007 Copa America, he declined as he had hopes of representing the Portuguese national team.
Success with Dynamo Moscow
In 2005, Danny transferred to Moscow's "Dynamo" team and quickly became one of the key players. He was recognized as the best player of the team in 2005 according to a fan poll. Danny is known for his versatility on the field, often playing as an attacking midfielder or on the left or right wings.

Danny has been consistently regarded as one of the most promising footballers in Portugal. He has played over 40 matches for various youth and Olympic national teams. In 2007, he was listed as the third-best player in the Russian Premier League.
