A Christmas Miracle for Daniel Tennant
Five-year-old Daniel Tennant, a Scottish boy with deformed hands, will be able to open his Christmas presents for the first time in his life this year. Although the hands are not his own, but prosthetic, this gift has been long awaited by Daniel and his mother. The prosthetic hands will completely change Daniel's life, allowing him to dress himself, write in school, and even play sports just like his peers. It is a Christmas gift that he never dreamed of.

A Life-Changing Birth
Daniel Tennant, currently five years old, lives in Scotland. His mother, Stephanie, is 29 years old and vividly remembers the events of the past five years. During her pregnancy, everything seemed normal and no scans detected any issues with the baby. It wasn't until the moment of birth, in the delivery room with Stephanie's mother and aunt present, that the midwife gently informed Stephanie that the baby was beautiful, but there was a problem with his hands. Stephanie herself had already noticed that her baby's right hand seemed too short, but she had no idea that his left arm was missing from the elbow. The shock on her mother and aunt's faces made Stephanie truly frightened for the first time.

A Mother's Love and Care
The explanation for Daniel's missing hands was simply that sometimes these things happen. Life went on - Daniel grew up without hands and therefore did not mourn their absence, as he was too young to worry about his health. Stephanie, on the other hand, had a more challenging time - caring for a child without hands was more difficult than caring for a typical child. However, she managed wonderfully and never complained. Daniel brought joy to their lives - he grew up to be a bright and cheerful boy, actively playing and developing. Although he didn't use the prosthesis made for him when he was less than a year old, he would sometimes play with it as a toy. Daniel managed to do some things with his shortened right hand, but many activities were closed off to him. He could only watch other children build with blocks and create their own crafts.

A Christmas Miracle
Miracles do happen, and one happened in the life of little Daniel just in time for Christmas when he was five years old in 2014. The Astley Ainslie Hospital in Edinburgh specially designed a prosthetic left hand with movable fingers for him. This was made possible by the charitable organization 'REACH', which specifically helps children with limb deformities. It was decided to present the new hand to Daniel as a Christmas gift. The effect of this gift was incredible - not only did Daniel love the functionality of the hand, but he also fell in love with it at first sight. Now he can write in school, build with blocks, create crafts, and do all the things he had been deprived of in his still short life. He also confessed that he had always dreamed of having five fingers, and now he finally had them. Stephanie is overjoyed and still can't believe that her son will be able to open his Christmas presents for the first time in his life. When she thinks about this day, tears fill her eyes.
A Continuing Mission
Thus, a Christmas fairy tale has already begun for one small family in Scotland. Meanwhile, the work at the 'REACH' foundation continues - there are many children born with limb deformities who need help.
