Daniel Van Buyten was a Belgian footballer who played as a defender for Bayern Munich and the Belgian national team. He was a finalist in the UEFA Champions League in 2010 and 2012, and won the tournament in 2013.

Early Years and Club Career

Van Buyten began his football career as a graduate of the youth academy of Charleroi. He made his debut for the club in 1998 and played for them for a year before moving to Standard Liege.
