Danny Saucedo: A Swedish Pop Sensation

Danny Saucedo, whose full name is Daniel Gabriel Alessandro Saucedo Gehovski, is a popular Swedish singer. He has made a name for himself as a solo artist and is also a member of the group E.M.D. Born on February 25, 1986, in Stockholm, Danny grew up in Sweden with his mother, father, and brother. His mother is originally from Bolivia, while his father is from Poland. Coming from a very musical family, Danny was enrolled in a boys' choir at the age of 5. He attended two different music schools and by the age of 16, he had founded his own group called "Raggabousch." The band played soul, funk, and pop music and became the most popular group in their school.

Idol and Early Success

Danny gained recognition in his country as one of the finalists on the show "Idol 2006" (the Swedish equivalent of "American Idol"). Despite finishing in sixth place, his single "Tokyo," released after his participation on the show, topped the Swedish charts. He is now one of the most famous performers in Sweden and is starting an international music career. Danny signed a contract with Sony BMG and caught the attention of renowned producer Jonas van der Burg, known for his work with Swedish pop stars such as September and Alcazar. Jonas wrote and produced Danny's debut album, "Heart.Beats," which was released in Sweden in 2007 and also reached the top spot on the national album chart. The album featured three mega-hits, "Tokyo," "Play It For The Girls," and "If Only You," which achieved tremendous success. "Tokyo" and "Play It For The Girls" went platinum, while "If Only You" earned a gold certification. All three singles reached the top 5 in digital sales.

International Success and E.M.D.

Danny is not only a superstar in Sweden but also in Poland, where the song "If Only You" spent five weeks at the top of the national charts, while "Tokyo" reached the third position. His success also reached Russia when Sony BMG released the album "Heart.Beats" in the summer of 2008. The song "If Only You" became the most played composition on Russian radio and a mega-hit of the summer, while "Tokyo" gained popularity in late autumn and was highly popular during the winter of 2008. Currently, Danny also performs as part of the group E.M.D. with former "Idol" contestants Eric Segerstedt and Mattias Andreason. They recently released the album "A State of Mind." In 2008, Danny participated in the Swedish edition of "Dancing with the Stars," called "Let's Dance," and finished in fourth place with his partner Moline Johansson. That same year, he represented Sweden alongside Janette Carlson at the Dance Eurovision 2008, where they ranked fourteenth. In December 2008, Danny released his second studio album, "Set Your Body Free." In March 2009, Danny and his group E.M.D. reached the final of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, where they finished third. Danny was invited as a special guest to the 2009 Muz-TV Awards, where he performed the song "Radio."
