Early Life and Career

Claudio Bravo, the renowned Chilean goalkeeper, was born into a football-loving family in Buin, Chile. His father, Claudio Bravo Sr., a former football player, ignited his son's passion for the sport. At a young age, Bravo joined the legendary Colo-Colo academy, where he honed his skills. His professional debut came in 2002, after an injury to fellow goalkeeper Eduardo Lobos. In 2003, Bravo himself suffered an injury, but upon his return, he became an integral part of his team, especially after Lobos' departure.

Real Sociedad

Following Colo-Colo's victory in the 2006 Apertura, Bravo made a move to Spanish club Real Sociedad. He signed a five-year contract, becoming the youngest goalkeeper in La Liga at the time. On February 14, 2010, he made history by scoring his first career goal, a free kick against Gimnàstic. However, shortly after, he faced a major setback, suffering a severe knee injury that forced him to miss the rest of the season.

In the 2012/2013 season, Bravo's remarkable performances helped Real Sociedad finish fourth in La Liga, securing a place in the following season's Champions League.

Barcelona

In 2014, Bravo's impressive form caught the attention of Barcelona, and he joined the Spanish giants on a four-year contract worth €12 million. He made his debut for Barcelona in a 3-0 victory against Elche and quickly established himself as the club's starting goalkeeper in the league. Bravo's exceptional saves and clean sheets helped Barcelona break several records, including a run of eight consecutive clean sheets in La Liga.

However, Bravo's time at Barcelona was marked by shared responsibilities, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen primarily playing in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Manchester City

After two successful seasons with Barcelona, Bravo moved to Manchester City in 2016 for a fee of €18 million, plus €2 million in bonuses. His first match for the club, a derby against rivals Manchester United, resulted in a 2-1 victory for City. Bravo's consistent performances and crucial saves made him an integral part of Pep Guardiola's title-winning squad.
