David Grigoryan: A Hero of Artsakh
David Grigoryan was an Armenian soldier and a Hero of Artsakh, who fought in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War. He was killed in action on November 26, 2020.
Early Life and Education
Grigoryan was born and raised in the village of Sardarapat, Armavir Province. He attended Sardarapat Secondary School, where he excelled in his studies.
Military Service
Grigoryan joined the Artsakh Defense Army and fought in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War. During the Battle of Karhambeli-Fizuli, he reportedly destroyed 15 enemy tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, single-handedly.
Heroism and Recognition
For his exceptional bravery, Grigoryan was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Artsakh" by President Arayik Harutyunyan on October 4, 2020. He was also awarded the Order of the Golden Eagle.
In recognition of Grigoryan's sacrifice, the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports awarded Sardarapat Secondary School a gold medal on October 5, 2020 for fostering a "Hero of Artsakh."
