After graduating from college in 2007, David garnered attention from the press when he was nominated for several international awards, including 'ITS6' in Trieste, 'Le Vif Weekend' in Belgium, and 'Cove Park' in Scotland. He also secured a position at 'Alberta Ferretti' before his graduation collection was even shown. Although Longshaw was eager to launch his own brand, he understood the importance of gaining experience in leading fashion companies as a recent graduate. He accepted a job offer from 'Max Mara' in Italy before returning home and focusing on his own label, which was launched in February 2010 during London Fashion Week.

Throughout his career, David Longshaw has continued to accumulate various awards and nominations. In 2011, he was named one of the 'Designers To Watch 2011' by vogue.com and was recognized as one of the Rising Stars of 2011 by ELLE magazine. In addition to being a talented designer, Longshaw is an exceptionally gifted illustrator. He has contributed to several publications, including vogue.com, Fashion156.com, and the 'LFW' newspaper. His unique approach to creating new collections involves first developing a story that he wants to tell, illustrating it, and then transferring his drawings onto fabric, resulting in an entire new universe connected by a single narrative.

Even during his time at Saint Martins, Longshaw created an original character named Maude, a fashion-obsessed mouse, and crafted her from the finest cashmere with the help of renowned tailor Richard James from Savile Row. Maude has her own blog called 'MAUDEZINE' on tumblr.com, where she shares reviews, conducts interviews, and showcases sketches. In September 2011, Maude's blog caught the attention of British Vogue, and it is no surprise that the cashmere mouse became somewhat of a fashion icon.

Longshaw also came up with and illustrated the weekly comic 'Francesca & Arthur' for Italian Vogue (vogue.it). His romantic nature, persistence, and vivid imagination are all reflected in the collections he creates. Longshaw's clothing, bags, famous scarves, jewelry, and illustrations are now sold worldwide, including in the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Dubai, Riyadh, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and more.
