Early Life and Education

Born in the United States, this prominent American economist obtained a Bachelor's degree from Antioch College in 1973. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin, earning a Master's degree in 1978 and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 1980.

Academic Career

Throughout his illustrious career, the economist has held teaching positions at prestigious universities. From 1976 to 1980, he taught at the University of Wisconsin. After that, he moved to Yale University (1980-1982) and the University of Miami (1982-1985). Since 1985, he has been a faculty member at the University of North Carolina.
