Biography of David Silveria
David Silveria is a former drummer of the nu-metal band Korn. He was a member of Korn from 1993 to 2006. In 2006, Silveria left the band for unknown reasons.
Early Life and Career
David Silveria grew up in Bakersfield and began playing drums at the age of nine. At thirteen, he learned that the local band L.A.P.D. was looking for a drummer. After auditioning, David was accepted into the band but needed permission from his mother. When Jonathan Davis joined the group, they changed their name to KoЯn. While Brian Welch, James Shaffer, and Reginald Arvizu took on stage names, Davis and Silveria continued to use their real names.
Personal Life
David Silveria divorced his wife Shannon in 2002. He has two children, David Jr. and Sofia Aurora. In 2006, Silveria underwent surgery to have a rib removed, which had been causing issues with his left hand. His wrist gave out during a performance in Fargo while playing the song "It's Gonna Go Away." For the remainder of the tour, Silveria was unable to play drums and was replaced by Mike Bordin of Faith No More. Silveria returned to the band during the recording of their album Untouchables, stating, "I hit really hard."
Later Career and Current Activities
In late 2006, when Korn began experimenting with acoustic performances, David Silveria took a break to focus on his steakhouse and lounge restaurant businesses, Tuna Town and Silveria's Steakhouse & Lounge. Brooks Wackerman and Terry Bozzio filled in as drummers for Korn's eighth studio album, and Joey Jordison of Slipknot played drums during their European tour and the Family Values Tour in 2007.
