Dean Cain is an American actor, best known for his role as Clark Kent (Superman) in the famous American TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. He was born on July 31, 1966, in Michigan to actress Sharon Thomas and American army soldier Roger Tanaka. Unfortunately, Dean did not experience the joys of parental care as his parents separated before his birth.

Dean's heritage is mixed, with his paternal grandfather being Japanese and the rest of his relatives being of Canadian, French, Irish, and Welsh descent. When Dean turned three, his mother married Christopher Cain, who worked as a director at a film studio. His stepfather happily took on the responsibility of raising Dean and his brother, musician Roger Cain, and eventually moved the family to Malibu, California.

After some time, the family grew with the birth of Dean's sister, Krissy Cain, who later became an actress. Dean Cain attended Santa Monica High School, where he not only gained knowledge but also actively participated in sports. He excelled in playing baseball for the school team. In 1984, Dean graduated from Santa Monica High School and enrolled at Princeton University. There, he became the captain of the volleyball team while also playing football. Interestingly, it was at Princeton where Dean Cain met future actress Brooke Shields, who was in an older class.

In 1988, Dean graduated from the University with a prestigious bachelor's degree in history. After completing his studies, he attempted to pursue a football career but injured his knee, forcing him to quit the sport. Losing hope of returning to sports, Dean Cain started writing scripts and gradually began acting in films. In 1993, he accepted the offer to play Superman in a television series, which soon became one of the most popular American TV projects.

After that, Dean regularly appeared in movies such as The Broken Hearts Club (2000), Out of Time (2003), and Bailey's Billions (2004). Dean Cain is also a caring father. He raises his son, Christopher Dean Cain, who was born in June 2000. The mother of the child is Dean's former girlfriend, model Samantha Torres.
