Layla Tanlar was born on December 13, 1997, in Istanbul, Turkey. Her father was an avid painter, while she initially aspired to become an artist herself. After playing the lead role in a play, she developed a passion for acting and continued participating in theater clubs. Tanlar attended Liceo Italiano di Istanbul, where she studied the works of Dante Alighieri and Giovanni Boccaccio.
Education and Modeling
In 2019, Tanlar enrolled in Koc University's Faculty of Media and Visual Arts, where she pursued studies in television channel management, consumer psychology, archaeology, and art history. She also worked as a model for magazines such as In Style and Elle.

In December 2020, Tanlar and fellow actress Alina Boz won a lawsuit against Endemol Media for unpaid wages related to their work on "Paramparça." Tanlar received a payment of 30,000 lira and a compensation of 6,000 lira, along with interest accrued over three years.
